#049 Self-Employed!
Nov. 22nd, 2017 04:52 pmWell today has been busy and all the stress I've been under has come to a head. I managed to get my shit together to call CAB and ask about the self-employed stuff. They advised me to register and also are going to book me in for a benefits check for me and Charlie.
I also called ESA to alert them about this and they said that I have a certain amount of 'permitted work' on ESA, which is up to 16 hours or £120 a week. Because it's freelance work this is going to be difficult - I can log my hours but as the pay is commission based, there's no way of knowing how much I will earn in a week. I do have all my commission types down and recorded with prices/amount of hours, so I think I can work around it. Still, they said if I earn over 120 I can alert them and they'll just take it out of my benefits.
Once I'm earning more, I hope to sign off ESA completely, but it probably won't be for a while as I need to improve my health but yeah! Progress!
